Launch out; Let Down Your Nets

December 31, 2017 • 11:00 am

Scripture:

Speaker: Pastor Miguel Betancourt II

Series: New Years Messages

What a fabulous command given to Peter: "Launch out and let down your nets for a draught (a catch of fish)!" Although at the time, it was the last thing Peter had on his mind and was reluctant to do so after being up all night and exhausted from fruitless labor.

Whereas Peter was more desirous of the meeting of his physical needs (He was exhausted and wanted to sleep!), Christ knew there was something these fishermen needed to know about Himself that was far more important than their comfort and convenience. The means Christ would use to teach these men would be the incredible catch of fish - so much that the weight would break their nets! These men would leave fishing and their nets to go fishing for something else - men! Fishermen became fishers of men!
