A New Day; A New Beginning
As the children of Israel prepared to cross Jordan, there no doubt must have been a mixture of exhilaration to have heard the report of the two spies who returned the day prior from Jericho, and at the same time a certain amount of apprehensiveness as they faced the unknown in the future. God promised to give direction but how would it be given? What assurance would they have of their promised success?
The answer is found in the two responsibilities given to the Children of Israel in our text. What was told to Israel long ago, is the same thing being communicated to us today as we anticipate our journey through this new year and to us as a church as we anticipate the completion of our relocation project to another town.
