A Pastoral Search and Selection

After almost thirty-two years of ministry with Foster Creek Baptist (f.k.a. Ferndale Baptist), Miguel ("Pastor Mike") Betancourt announced his resignation effective July 31, 2023. Our church was being shepherded by Dr. Billy M. Gotcher from Bob Jones University Seminary until February 8, 2026.

After a 2 1/2 year search, Foster Creek Baptist voted unanimously on Feb 8th to call Joel Potter as our next pastor. Please pray for Pastor Potter and his family as they begin the transition to the Charleston area from North Carolina. Pastor Gotcher will continue to fill the pulpit with Pastor Potter until he moves in July 2026.

Please continue to pray for the Lord to direct Pastor Potter as our 8th pastor of our ministry, shepherding a wonderful church family and helping us impact our community for Christ as we look to develop phase two and three of our master plan on the 7.5 acres of land we own debt free. We are preparing ourselves for his arrival and trust the Lord is preparing Pastor Joel and his family to bless our ministry.
