Scripture:

Speaker: Pastor Miguel Betancourt II

Series: Behold Your God!

So many misuse and abuse that wonderful gift God has given us by using it for selfish purposes instead of using it for the purpose God had in mind. Our text this morning reveals that God's love has an intended purpose - just like the gifts we give are given with a particular purpose in mind to those who are special to us and who are the objects of our love! God Is Still on the Throne

Scripture:

Speaker: Pastor Miguel Betancourt II

Series: Current Events/Issues

Synopsis: It is very easy to get agitated or anxious with all the instability and insecurity due to what is happening in our nation right now--especially with all the shenanigans related to the national elections. At the same time there is much uncertainty as to what all this means for the future of our nation and for us as individuals if a particular candidate becomes president and enforces progressive policies which will bring regressive results (See Jeremiah 7:24). During these uncertain days, it is good for us to remember our God is still on His throne and sovereignly at work to accomplish His redemptive purposes -- all for His own glory. He is in control so that means we don't have to be and so therefore we can rest in His care and experience His peace. Tonight's message is geared towards fortifying our hearts and minds and reminding us of the foundational truths upon which we can build our lives.

Faith's Response to the Future

Scripture:

Speaker: Pastor Miguel Betancourt II

Series: Current Events/Issues

Synopsis: We continue to witness all kinds of upheaval in our nation. Not only are we dealing with the Corona virus and civil unrest in major Democrat-run cities, but now also the widespread charges of election fraud and cheating to ensure a particular candidate's election to the presidency. Given the uncertainty regarding our nation's future--especially with the regressive results that progressive policies will bring (Cf. Jer. 7:24!) if carried out--it is good for us to either be instructed or reminded of some stabilizing truths we need to embrace as we face the present and the future. What is Faith's Response to the Future? This message from Habakkuk 3:16-19 answers that question.

To Elect or Not to Elect

Scripture:

Speaker: Pastor Miguel Betancourt II

Series: Current Events/Issues

Synopsis: Someone once said, "progressive policies always bring regressive results." Jeremiah 7:24 would support that claim! It's with that in mind and the upcoming critical elections this Tuesday that the words of our text serve as both a warning and an admonition for us who know the Lord. The Apostle Paul took advantage of his Roman citizenship in Acts 16:37-39, 21:39; 22:25-29; 25:1011. So there is scriptural warrant for us as American citizens to exercise our privileges and rights of citizenship -- part of which is making the time to cast an informed vote in our elections!
