Synopsis: One of the most iconic symbols of American Freedom is the Liberty Bell upon which is inscribed the words of Leviticus 25:10a. For the OT Israelite, God designated another icon to serve as a visual reminder of the liberty that was to be proclaimed throughout the land. In this first of two messages from this text, our pastor directs our attention to the basis for this proclamation. Synopsis: John 20 records two great benefits of the Resurrection of Christ. In this message we look at the first benefit that is indicated by the repetition of the idea of "seeing" that occurs 15x's in 29 verses but is the translation of 4 different Greek words, each one indicating a different nuance to the idea of seeing. Tracing the use of the words, you can see the progress of faith by which the disciples "see" what Christ and the OT prophets had predicted! As you work your way through this chapter, you will discover four ways in which we can tell if we too have seen the risen Christ, not with our physical eye but with the eye of faith.
