Synopsis: The old saying goes, "When all else fails, read the directions." Although there are no printed instructions that come with children when they are born, when it comes to the matter of being the right kind of parent to influence/guide the next generation for God, we are not left helpless and hopeless to try to figure out what to do! God's Word gives us the instruction we need!
This message covers the 4th and final instruction with some practical applications to help us guide the next generation for God.
Synopsis: Deuteronomy 6:6 provides us with a key instruction that is the third of four we are looking at to help us "Guide the Next Generation for God." Here's hope, encouragement and a challenging message to equip you as you fulfill your God-ordained role as a parent!
Synopsis: In today's message we look at the 2nd of 4 instructions God gave to Israel to help them guide the next generation for God. If we want our children to live as Joshua lived and influence their children towards a growing, personal relationship with God, they must be taught to do what parents should already be doing.
Synopsis: How do we get our children and grandchildren to know God--not just to know about Him (know all the stories), but to see His power at work in their lives? We can't discount nor dismiss the work of the Holy Spirit and divine grace but while He does His job, there is work for us to do! In our text there are four commands parents and grandparents must obey in order to influence their children towards a growing, personal relationship with God.
Today's message covers the first of these four commands.
Synopsis: In our text today, we are introduced to three generations of Jews - each one having a different response to God; each one shaped by a particular influence to respond they way they did--God's or society's. God's plan is for parents to influence their children so they bear God's imprint rather than society's.
