Can you imagine what it would have been like to have been with the early disciples when "breaking news" reached them that Jesus' tomb was vacant! This news no doubt brought agitation in the minds of some; excitement and bewilderment in the minds of others; it was the worst news for some and the best news for others! Jesus actually said, however, that those who believed Christ was risen without having seen physical evidence were more blessed than those that did! (See John 20:29). The life-impacting truth being extracted from this passage is this: Christ's resurrection inspires the expression of faith. The sight of the risen Christ is what we really need and will be dramatically life-changing when that happens! How do we know when we have seen the risen Christ with the eye of faith? There are four evidences. Tonight we cover two of them.

Synopsis: John 20 records two great benefits of the Resurrection of Christ. In this message we look at the first benefit that is indicated by the repetition of the idea of "seeing" that occurs 15x's in 29 verses but is the translation of 4 different Greek words, each one indicating a different nuance to the idea of seeing. Tracing the use of the words, you can see the progress of faith by which the disciples "see" what Christ and the OT prophets had predicted!
