Sola Fide, Part 1
This particular Sola focuses upon what was the core issue of the Reformation--How does a man become justified before God? What is the means or the channel by which God's salvation comes to the sinner? How is he accepted by God and granted access to Heaven? It's the same matter that Job himself mentioned in his book several millennia before Martin Luther's day - How then can a man be justified with God? (25:4).
The Reformers were "whistle-blowers." On this important issue of salvation, they pointed out the false teaching of a "faith + works" system of righteousness that was commonly taught in their day by the Roman Catholic Church and continues to be taught today by other groups as well.
In part 1 of Sola Fide (By Faith Alone), learn what saving faith means, what constitutes it, how does a person obtain saving faith, and how is the standard of righteousness given that is the only kind God accepts for entrance into Heaven.
