"Learning to Love like Jesus"

Scripture: Romans 12:9-13

Synopsis: Rooted in Romans 12:9–13 (in light of Romans 1–11), this sermon calls Christians to let their love be genuine—hating what God calls evil, clinging to what is good, treating fellow believers like family, honoring others above self, serving the Lord with zeal, praying with perseverance, and giving generously. A listener is challenged to reject hypocritical, consumeristic Christianity and instead embody Christ’s authentic, truth-shaped love in the church and toward the world, marked by hope, endurance, and joyful devotion to God.

Synopsis: Because God has saved us by grace in Christ, we’re called to walk carefully and intentionally in a dark, distracting culture—living by Scripture rather than convenience, redeeming our time, and seeking to understand and do the Lord’s will. A listener is pressed to reject casual, consumer Christianity and instead yield to the Spirit in practical ways—turning from controlling “intoxicants,” growing through the Word and prayer, serving faithfully, speaking and singing gospel truth, giving thanks in all things, submitting humbly, and sharing Christ boldly.
